An evening with Dr. Leslie Kern and Hamilton councillors on power, equity, and shaping a more inclusive city.

Join YWCA Hamitlon for an evening conversation on leadership, equity, and civic life in Hamilton. Hosted by Eva Salinas, Executive Producer of CBC Hamilton, the evening will begin with a keynote by Dr. Leslie Kern, author of Feminist City: Claiming Space in a Man-Made World. Dr. Kern will explore the intersections of gender, power, and urban life setting the stage for a panel discussion featuring three of Hamilton’s newest City Councillors.

Together, they will reflect on the realities of public service and what it takes to lead in today’s political climate.

This event is designed for anyone curious about how change happens in our city, whether you are considering public office, engaged in community advocacy, or simply want to better understand how local leadership works.

This event also precedes the YWCA Hamilton’s full-day “Reaching for Power Together: A Municipal Election Campaign School” on March 28, designed to equip community members (particularly those from equity-deserving populations) with the tools and confidence to pursue leadership and elected office.
