Comedy Night at The Westdale June 13

It’s Stand Up Comedy Night at The Westdale!

A veteran of the Canadian comedy scene, Ted Morris started his comedy career while looking for a way to blow off steam during vet school. His most recent achievements include the release of his long-awaited debut comedy album “Dawn of the Ted” , being insulted by Simon Cowell on season 14 of “America’s Got Talent”, his 5th appearance at the Halifax Comedy Festival, 3rd appearance at the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, an upcoming set and interview on Stand-up Night with Rick Mercer on CBC, continuing his undefeated streak on CBC Radio’s “The Debaters”, a Gala taping at Just for Laughs Montreal which was nominated for a Canadian Screen Award and a Canadian Comedy Award nomination for Best Stand-up Comic.

He’s pretty funny.

Hisham Kelati is a Toronto-based stand-up comic and comedy writer, known for his vivid and engaging storytelling.

He’s performed on festivals like Just for Laughs Montreal (New Faces 2019), Just for Laughs Toronto, Sled Island, Toronto Sketchfest and CBC’s Accent on Toronto.

He’s also opened for SNL’s Chris Redd and WTF Podcast host Marc Maron, was a writer on CBC’s hit sketch show TallBoyz, can be heard on CBC The Debaters and can be seen on CTV’s The Stand Up Show with Jon Dore and CBC’s New Wave of Stand-up.

In 2019, he was nominated for Best Taped Performance at the Canadian Comedy Awards and won Host of the Year at the Toronto Comedy Awards, and most recently his debut stand-up comedy album “Tigre King” was nominated for a Juno for Comedy Album of the Year 2022.

In recent years, Al Val has enjoyed nothing short of a meteoric rise in the Canadian comedy scene. Val has made appearances at Just For Laughs’ “New Faces” Showcase, JFL NorthWest, Off-JFL/Zoofest, and has taped stand-up sets for CBC Gem (“New Wave of Standup”) Crave TV (“The Stand-Up Show with Jon Dore”), and “JFL Originals”. Host of her own weekly solo stream-of-consciousness podcast “PodGis”, graduate of Second City’s Conservatory Program,  and one part of improv-rock musical duo “OverDude”, there’s no wonder this multitalented whirlwind was voted by her peers as 2020’s “Breakout Comic of the Year” (in the ‘male’ category, no less – really stickin’ it to the fellas!).

Between her boundlessly high energy, vulnerability and honesty regarding her transgender journey, clever, insightful perspective, and spontaneous, silly delivery, Al Val is surely a dynamic, exciting entertainer whose charm you will surely be unable to resist!”
