Hamilton Black Film Festival | Toronto Motel

After months of lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the province of Ontario is reopening. In this context, TRACY, a street-smart native of Detroit, convinces his Toronto-native cousin CHRISTIAN to attend a house party despite the risk of getting fined for large public gatherings. Upon arriving, they are surprised to find CHRISTIAN’s younger sister, ANGELA, already in attendance. The party is hosted by a notorious drug dealer named REPO, who takes a dangerous liking to ANGELA and becomes enraged when she rejects his advances.

This story explores themes of family, loyalty, gender dynamics, and personal growth in the face of challenging circumstances. It is a cautionary tale about the risks of recklessness and the importance of thoughtfully navigating complex social situations.
