The ninth annual National Canadian Film Day (NCFD), presented by REEL CANADA, takes place on Wednesday, April 20, 2022! Hundreds of free screenings of Canadian films will be taking place from coast to coast to coast and around the world. This year’s spotlight, Celebrating Indigenous Voices, is presented in association with the ImagineNATIVE Film and Media Arts Festival and highlights Indigenous-made films spanning a broad spectrum of decades and genres. You can find more information at canfilmday.ca The Body Remembers When the World Broke Open When Áila encounters a young Indigenous woman, barefoot and crying in the rain on the side of a busy street, she soon discovers that this young woman, Rosie, has just escaped a violent assault at the hands of her boyfriend. Áila decides to bring Rosie home with her and over the course of the evening, the two navigate the aftermath of this traumatic event.
